DEVELOPMENT BIOLOGY OF YOUNG CAMELS (CAMELUS BACTRIANUS, CAMELUS DROMEDARIUS

The biology of the development of young camels of the Kazakh Bactrian (Camelus bactrianus) and Turkmen dromedary (Camelus dromedarius) of the Arvana breeds from birth to 48 months of age in the conditions of Kazakhstan was analyzed.
The object of the research was young camels of the Kazakh Bactrian breed of the Balkhash zone and the Turkmen dromedary of the Otyrar-Turkestan zone of Kazakhstan.
The studies were carried out from 3 days to 48 months of age. Analysis of changes in body measurements and live weight of young animals was performed by measuring (height at withers, oblique body length, chest girth, metacarpus girth) and determining the live weight with subsequent calculation of average daily gains. The live weight of young animals was weighed on stationary scales with 1.0 kg accuracy or by calculation using the age coefficient according to the Patent of the Republic of Kazakhstan for invention No. 15886.
The increase in the quantitative body measurements was determined by the dynamics of the average daily gain in live weight from birth to 48 months of age. In the conducted research, the average daily gains for the reference period in Kazakh Bactrian breed varied from 193.9 g to 665.8 g for males, and for females - from 201.5 g to 628.7 g, respectively. Average daily increases in live weight in young Turkmen dromedary camels varied from 180.5 g to 709.2 g for males, and for females - from 207.2 g to 655.2 g, respectively.
From birth to 48 months of age, the indices of format, broad body, blockiness and massiveness increased in both males and females. The index of bones changed slightly.
