Аннотация

This study examines the medicinal properties of the Artemisia lerchiana plant and the possibilities
of its use in veterinary medicine. This endemic species belonging to the genus Artemisia lerchiana in the
east-west regions of Kazakhstan is rich in essential oils and other biologically active compounds. The
study examined the technology of obtaining essential oil from leaves and stems of plants during the mass
growing season by hydrodistillation, determination of the component composition by chromatography
mass spectrometry, and preparation of nayatoy.
The main components of the essential oil were camphor, 1,8-cineol, isoborneol, and camphene,
which have high antimicrobial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, the essential oil and
infusion of Artemisia lerchiana exhibit bactericidal and fungicidal activity, which suggests that the plant
is a promising raw material for the manufacture of antimicrobial drugs in veterinary medicine.
The results of the study revealed high-quality technologies for collecting, drying, and storing the
plant and proved the possibility of using its biologically active substances in veterinary medicine. In
general, Artemisia lerchiana provides ample opportunities for the development of new drugs that can be
widely used in veterinary medicine as a natural and safe medicinal plant.
