SUSTAINABILITY OF IRRIGATED AGRICULTURE IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENSURING FOOD SECURITY IN THE REGIONS

This study focuses on approaches to ensuring the sustainable development of irrigated agriculture in the context of climate change, which is crucial for regional food security.
The strategies for ensuring the stable operation of irrigated agriculture in the context of climate change are analyzed to guarantee regional food security. Key factors contributing to the sustainability of irrigated agriculture, both in aggregate and separately, are identified. These include: rational management of water and land resources, serviceability and reliability of melioration systems, economic viability of agricultural production on irrigated lands, social stability of regions, and ecological balance.
The paper examines ways to achieve the sustainability of irrigated agriculture in the context of climate change, which directly affects food security in the regions. It is emphasized that the sustainability of irrigated agriculture is achieved through the synergy of several factors, such as: availability and effective management of water and land resources, technical serviceability and reliability of melioration systems, economic viability of agricultural production on irrigated lands, social stability of regions, and preservation of the ecological balance.
The study also addresses issues of the functioning of water management systems and analyzes the sustainability of the use of natural and production resources in irrigated agriculture in the context of climate change.
