Аннотация

The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of nematodirosis in sheep in the West Kazakhstan region and to determine the degree of infestation depending on the farms and climatic conditions of the region. The studies were conducted using helminthoscopy methods. For diagnosis, methods of washing the small and large intestines and the Fulleborn method were used to detect Nematodirus spathiger eggs. In addition, the intensity of infection and the incidence rate of sheep of different ages were determined.

The studies showed that, along with nematodirosis, mixed infestations were found in sheep, including monieziosis and trematodes. The farms with the highest incidence of nematodirosis were Sultanbek, Baiterek, Zhetikol, and Terek, where the extent and intensity of infection were higher than the average for the West Kazakhstan region. The results confirm that the climatic conditions of the region (steppe, semi-desert, and desert) contribute to the preservation of the invasive principle in the external environment.

The results of the study are of practical importance for the development of comprehensive measures to prevent and control helminthiasis in sheep in Western Kazakhstan. They can be used by farm owners when planning antihelminthic measures, selecting the optimal timing for deworming, and assessing the epizootic situation in the region.
